Home as the New Office-Work from home

Employee demands for flexible schedules and remote work alternatives will become the new normal once social separation measures are withdrawn and firms reopen. Providing flexible work arrangements has become increasingly widespread now that a lot of firms have seen how beneficial telecommuting is for his or her company or how work hours aside from the standard 9-to-5 may be implemented without sacrificing productivity (SHRM, 2021).

Advantages

According to clicktime, (2020) following are the advantages of remote working.

·       A timetable that is adaptable.

You may handle your own projects without the need for an intermediary. You are not obligated to answer the phone when family members call, and you are free to have lunch whenever you please.

·       Environment created specifically for you.

Make your noise level exactly what you want it to be. It might be a loud noise or not. You can make your own adjustments based on your preferences.

·       Clothes that are comfortable.

You didn't want to look like a businessperson. You have the option of wearing clothing that are comfy for you. It might be a basic jean or a slim jean. When you're at an online meeting, you'll only want to dress professionally.

·   Making phone calls is more convenient

You won't have to search for a meeting location or dealing with a talkative coworker. All you have to do now is organize your surroundings in a comfortable manner.

·       Complete some weekend tasks.

You can finish things on weekends if you have time. Because you already own all of the accoutrements you desire.

·       There are no workplace distractions.

Avoid arguing the things you don't desire with your coworkers. There's also no need to be concerned about keeping the AC cold or printing equipment, among other things.

·       Spend less money.

You may save money by not having to go and having a free meal at home. Also, not wearing a professional uniform saves money.

·       Forget about the crowds and the traffic.

There is no traffic, making travel unpleasant.

Disadvantages

According to clicktime, (2020) following are the disadvantages of remote working.

·       Willpower.

It might be the result of heavy workloads. You have missed the favorable aspects.

·       Having problem sticking to a schedule.

At work, the order in which you accomplish activities is almost never the same as the order in which you perform them at home. It may be challenging to replicate your schedule and routines outside of the job.

·       Calls or pings that are crucial to you are being missed.

You may have missed vital phone calls or emails, causing problems.

  2. Work from home has been a new normal for many companies after the covid pandemic situation.
    Whenever a person has some symptoms of a particular sickness or any symptoms within family members, the management immediately requests the employees to work from home.
    This has ended the employees getting overloaded and busier than working in the office.. some persons likes working from home and some dislikes working from home..

Only thing is organisations and management has to develop a system to monitor the work done by the employees. Because when some employees over worked by the end of the day and some are relaxed.

It is interesting to find literatures about this topic. 94 percent of employees surveyed in a Mercer study reported that remote work was either business as usual or better than working in the office, likely because it lacks the distractions, annoyances, and soft abuses that come with co-workers and middle managers. So why not yes to work from home. I think best thing we realized in this decade is work from home concept.
