Virtual training programs in the workplace in a pandemic situation

Training is appearing as one of the first and toughest corporate activities as organizations throughout the world postpone and cancel in-person sessions in reaction to the new coronavirus that causes the COVID-19 sickness. Organizations, on the other hand, cannot afford to put capability development on hold. Organizations can't just halt crucial staff development, even as they act quickly to put the health and safety of employees first, whether those are reskilling at the business unit level or a corporation aspirational change.(Gurchiek, 2020)

Training executives may take a variety of tactical actions to safeguard staff, alter plans and implementation, and build and extend virtual live training to ensure allowing and providing value-creating activities.

During this era of social distance, leaders may pursue strategic initiatives, such as researching alternative digital learning methodologies, in addition to tactical ones. The better learning abilities that result from this gloomy period may have a long-term beneficial effect. (Gurchiek, 2020).

Activities for maintaining the workplace learning program

According to (Kshirsagar, et al., 2020) following are the Activities for maintaining the workplace learning program.

Top 6 activities, varying from urgent and tactical to strategic, may help workplace-learning initiatives sustain momentum and advantages while also laying a new basis for the implementation of digital learning .

·       1.Putting together a training team.

Establish a cross-functional reaction team comprised of representatives from all major stakeholder groups to develop a comprehensive overview of training activities and how to adjust them to this new context.

·     2.Workers in in-person programs are protected.

Begin by creating and implementing an employee assistance plan that adheres to the most conservative criteria accessible from major local and worldwide health departments.

  1. Useful and timely topic. Virtual training is instructor led training process. Learning process may create a sense of isolation and might lose the interest of the employees. In virtual training It's a difficult task to keep all the participants occupied in the programme.

  4. Everything changed significantly when COVID-19 attacked in early 2020. As businesses were forced into lockdown mode, with a huge percentage of the staff suddenly functioning from home, interest in (and necessity for) virtual training increased at an unprecedented rate. Although some remote workforces had been facing travel cuts for years, the pandemic forced corporations to develop solutions overnight rather than over a few months. Many unprepared firms were forced to expedite virtual training. What had been planned for future research and implementation was thrust upon practically everyone, many of whom had no prior expertise (Sangtani, 2020).
